The Robinson Jeffers Association provides several grants a year of up to $1,000.00 to support travel to present research focused on the poetry of Robinson Jeffers or research that engages Jeffers’ poetry as part of a broader study. Applications are reviewed year-round by the RJA Executive Committee. Applicants need not be members of RJA to apply.
Application Requirements:
- Cover letter.
- Abstract of the paper to be presented or summary of the session to be chaired.
- Evidence that the paper or session to be chaired has been accepted, including the name and URL for the sponsoring organization.
- Current Curriculum Vitae.
- Overview of cost for travel, lodging and conference registration not covered by other support such as travel funds from one’s home institution..

RJA will do its utmost to respond to completed applications within six weeks.
RJA may fund a request in full or in part.
RJA expects applicants to disclose other funding applications and awards.
Please Note:
- RJA Travel Grants can be used to supplement support from other sources (such as the applicant’s home institution) up to, but not to exceed the total expenses of travel, lodging, and conference registration but excluding per diem costs.
- RJA cannot advance funds against travel, but will, when receipts documenting expenses are sent, promptly reimburse expenses.
